Davidoff Art Initiative was highly active during Art Basel’s show in Basel this June.
Joining the activities and festivities were several advisors and past resident artists of the program, including Sara Hermann, Member of the Davidoff Art Initiative Council – Mónica Ferreras de la Maza, Artist in Residence in New York in 2013 – Jorge Pineda – Artist in Residence at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin now – and Quisqueya Henríquez, the first Davidoff Limited Art Edition Artist.
For the first time, the Davidoff Art Initiative organized a series of informal art dialogues in the fair’s VIP section with noted Dominican artists who have been involved in the Art Initiative to date. In daily afternoon sessions in the Collectors Lounge, Quisiqueya Henríquez (2014 Art Edition), Jorge Pineda (2014 Berlin artist in residence), and Mónica Ferreras De la Maza (2013 New York artist in residence) engaged in conversation with international collectors, writers, an art aficionados attending the show.
For visitors to Art Basel, it was a welcome opportunity to meet and interact directly with some of the leading artists of the Caribbean working today.
