11/20/2017 Residence: Spaces for exchange
Being able to participate in the academic activities of the Kunst Institute directed by the curator Chus Martínez generate an environment of intellectual and human exchange conducive to develop a creative project.
The links and the type of exchange generated by these programs allow us [as artists] to know areas and contexts of creation that were previously unexplored, while at the same time exerting a short, medium and long-term impact on the modulation of thought and creation.
The emphasis that this particular residence has and its interest in developing the local scenes interests me a lot, I think it is important to offer favorable opportunities to those cultural ecosystems eroded by the preeminence of a globalized world and a devouring neoliberal market.
It has been a truly amazing experience so far. I have explored new worlds of discovery and visited places and people that allow for furthering my understanding and interests as an artist. Libraries, museums, galleries, have been visited; talks and seminars have been attended. Now, I turn to create works that will undoubtedly be influenced by the experiences of this residence.
